A heavy fishing net is being winched up out of dark choppy water, dripping and straining. As the net breaks the surface, a creature thrashes inside — a pale humanoid torso with long wet hair, ribbed glistening skin, and a powerful silver fish tail. The creature behaves like a real trapped wild animal — panicking, instinctively struggling to free itself. It twists and writhes naturally, pushing against the netting with its arms, its tail beating frantically to gain leverage, gills flaring as it gasps. Seawater sprays toward the lens with every desperate movement. The camera jerks and zooms shakily as off-screen fishermen shout in panic. The creature, exhausted and frightened, turns toward the camera revealing a half-human, half-fish face with wide black glassy eyes, and lets out a long piercing almost-human scream of distress that distorts the audio into harsh static crackle. In a final burst of survival instinct it strains hard against the net, the strands snapping, then hauls its body over the boat's edge and slips back into the black water with a heavy splash, diving instantly toward the depths. The camera whips down toward the empty rippling water as static bursts across the screen.
